Activities overview on map

Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Ok, another near future addition to the site I am looking forward to, is the possibility to view several culinary activities – say one page with search results – at the same time on a map. I know it is possible, obviously. I need a simple way, however, to begin with, to keep development costs low. This site gives a nice example of what looks quite easy from a development perspective.

Adding photo’s and videos to activity

Now here is a nice idea for additional features, besides being able to add reviews, the option to directly add photo’s and videos to the culinary activities.

Extreme cooking

Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

During an edition of the BBC series ‘Master Chef’, the contestants had to cook in the jungle of Belize for English soldiers. They were managed by the army chef, who was/is a champion of an extreme cooking competition. Cooking competitions are one of the many things I love to look into from a culinary activities perspective, both for professional chefs and the rest of us – the enthousiastic amateurs -. I found lots of cook-outs, championships, etcetera (which obviously stil need to be added to the activity collection, as so many things), however, the extreme cooking competition I have not found yet. So, definately to be continued…

Why not select a culinary activity like winery visits based upon its location; close to the beautiful beaches around the world. This angle was covered by Food and Wine magazine in october 2009.

Another theme for culinary activities; visit the bars around the world which either serve either perfectly prepared classic cocktails or the other way around, classic cocktails re-interpreted in a 21st century style.
